Skin infections are common and include bacterial, fungal, and viral infections of the skin.  Some of the common skin infections we treat include:

  • Bacterial skin infections including staph infections such as folliculitis, impetigo, cellulitis, MRSA infection, and boils.
  • Fungal skin Infections including athlete’s foot, ringworm, and yeast infections.
  • Viral skin infections such as warts, molluscum contagiosum, herpes simplex, and shingles, and yeast infections.
  • Infestations such as head lice and scabies.

A bacterial skin infection can present in many ways including a red bump or as a tender, red swollen area of the skin.  To make a definitive diagnosis, careful clinical evaluation is often combined with a bacterial culture of the area.
