Cosmetic Fillers help reverse the appearance of aging and can give a more natural look than surgical face lifts. A dermatologist uses dermal fillers to reduce or eliminate wrinkles, laugh lines, marionette lines, jowl lines, raise scar depressions, enhance lips, and replace soft-tissue volume loss. We use a variety of Juvederm fillers including: Ultra XC, Ultra Plus XC, Volbella, Voluma, and Vollure. Using these wrinkle fillers, sometimes in combination with Botox, the dermatologists at Dermatology Care of Charlotte are able to reduce unwanted wrinkles and improve the natural contours of the skin.
an FDA-approved injection used to increase lip fullness and soften the appearance of “smoker’s lines” around the mouth. It may also be used to fill pitted acne scarring in the face. Unlike other fillers, Volbella blends different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid, which allows it to create subtle volume that lasts for up to a year.
an FDA-approved filler designed to be used specifically in the mid-face, adding volume to the cheeks. Voluma is made with hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin. Results typically last between nine months to a year.
an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid facial fillers, primarily used for smoothing naso-labial folds. These fillers use Vycross technology, which blends different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid to deliver results that last up to 18 months. Longest lasting Juvederm product!
Ultra and Ultra Plus XC-
The difference between FDA-approved injections Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus is the size of the particles, with Juvederm Ultra Plus having a larger particle size, and thus a longer duration of action. Juvederm Ultra typically lasts 6-9 months while Juvederm Ultra Plus typically lasts 9-12 months. The softness of the Juvederm family of products generally makes them excellent choices for treating naso-labial folds and the corners of the mouth. These products are also used for plumping the lips. Juvederm Ultra is a little softer than Juvederm Ultra Plus, but they are both very useful products for similar areas of the face.
